After the Black Death ravaged the four main regions of the game, Calpheon, Serendia, Balenos and Mediah, a civil war breaks out between the Kingdom of Valencia and the Republic of Calpheon. The war is fought between two factions; one that supports medical care and another that doesn’t. During the war, players take on the role of virtuous heroes who want to bring peace to their land. The Valencia people who settled in the eastern part of Mediah have prospered from trading with other kingdoms since the war. However, they changed things after a group found black stones believed to contain unlimited power. People started trading with each other again as if they’d forgotten the past. Black Stones lie at the heart of the mystical Black Desert; it is from this location that Valencia citizens retrieve their wealth. The Republic of Calpheon intends to plunder this treasure soon. You play the game as the heroes and take on multiple missions and challenges alongside other players. These actions help you end the war by working together.
