A truly terrifying game is difficult to find. Many mobile games include horror elements, but none match the level of fear embodied by this particular game. Its presence in front of them makes them feel gentle and non-threatening.

Although the game Demons Never Lie looks like a comedy with its blocky voxel graphics, it's actually a dark fantasy story. When viewing the game's graphics, don't believe it to be a comedy. The beginning of the Demons Never Lie story Ghostly Man is about a man named John who was watching his funeral from a previous life. Because no one attended the funeral, John's lonely life was easy to imagine. Everything was also quiet and empty; in fact, it gave a sense of desolation to its attendees. A young girl named Alba appeared in a tragic scene. After talking with her, Alba announced good news: The Light area had opened its doors to allow John to enter. He had only moments to say goodbye to his old life before following her into a new world. Ocaso appeared out of nowhere and surprised John. He called himself a demon, which made John question whether he should continue traveling. Instead, he could stay home and forget about everything that had happened. If he did this, his only condition would be that he would have to reverse all the damage from his past mistakes. Additionally, this option would allow him to restore youth and erase all the mistakes from his life. Because Ocaso hadn’t yet completed his sentence, John felt he had to hurry and give up on his goal of happiness. When he was 28 years old, John left his education behind to live with a humorless mother who demanded that he do whatever she pleased. Over time, John lost the morals he embraced in his previous life as he chose what made him feel good. This allowed him to pursue any course of action without regard for right or wrong. Finally, he felt free to live the life he wanted— getting drunk and stealing his friend's wife— only because he thought it made him happy. John’s rebellion against the morals instilled in his mind led to his tragic demise. He committed suicide in the same manner as he had done so in his previous life. That’s what happens at the beginning of Chapter 1. John's third life started as Mark, who was related to John in some way. John died, but came back to life as someone else after being resuscitated. Called Peter by the people who chose him to live again, he selfishly refused to acknowledge any other person's feelings and pursued only his happiness. When it comes to your next life, you have two options: live honestly or live a life of deception. You can either pursue the happiness in your current life or live deceptive to serve someone else's agenda. Karmic consequences are equivalent regardless of whether you choose to be good or bad. This is true for those who go to hell instead of heaven as an alternative to al-Lah —spoken as Ocaso— leading a group of souls instead of guiding them to paradise as Alba does. As I’ve stated before, demons never lie. The devil never lies either. What matters most is where you want to place your life’s path.

The traditional narrative style of game is used. And the length of the plot comes with a constant dialogue among the characters. When Alba asks John if he wants to stay on the earthly life anymore, you can choose answers for this important situation. This can influence John to continue living on this life and help him get caught up in the vortex of the story's games. Even though you end up getting pulled into the vortex anyway, making these early choices gives you a sense of belonging to the story. The game's long story won't be affected because limited options are included in the overall gameplay. Certain characters have some control over their actions, but they're usually limited to specific options. The game's context is extremely diverse. Many scenes take place from the third person perspective. And transitioning between scenes is seamless thanks to the use of camera angles and rooms. For example, a player entering room A may observe the door to Room B. If a player so desires, they can simply touch the door to initiate movement from A to B. Before meeting Lucia in the park, John needs access to funds. This is why he needs a credit card in hand when making plans to date her. There are occasions when two or more tasks must be done at once. However, this would never lead to overloading. The story of a life still under development remains the focus of this game. Indeed, all choice paths, quests and quiz questions serve to keep players enthralled by the narrative.

The game's music is played repeatedly with no variation. Some parts of the soundtrack include a joyful, enjoyable rhythm like music heard in the street or urban area. However, the soundtrack also contains elements of melancholy when representing other life's moments or characters' self-reflection. Because the game has no audio, its text and spoken dialog are still very well-done. The game's sound effects are well crafted and distinct. For example, when John plays video games, the sounds of the game are intentional and precise. This level of attention and care to storytelling makes Demons Never Die a smooth ride for its story. The graphics in Demons Never Lie were in 2D, with color blocks resembling squares. The images are always dark and gritty, somewhat ironic and difficult to understand, despite being colorful and life-like. The story slowly pulls you in. That's why the characters move with little effort and pace. Keeping this in mind, you may find yourself affected by the story regardless of your awareness.
