However, subscribers of this app have reported in the media that they received a complaint after sharing their data with companies connected with the US military. A lawsuit was filed against the company in which legal accusations range from data privacy violations to abuse of trust, endangering the lives of others, and attempted murder. French Luxembourg Radio and Television Group (RTL) revealed the lawsuit, which involved the company. Last week, the US military reportedly purchased the geographic data of world apps from multiple countries. Consequently, US online media Vice reported that a lawsuit against these apps is scheduled to be filed today. A location option is available for the Muslim Pro App; this app determines the direction of the holy city of Mecca and the time for daily prayers. The Vice report stated that the app’s company sold user data to X-Mode, which then sold data to contractors and even to the US military. The report states that the data gathered can be used for anti-terrorism missions performed outside of the US. They also believe using this information to operate drone aircrafts can be used to capture suspect terrorists. Muslim Pro App announced it would stop sharing data with other companies after the report was released on the second day.
