WarFriends offers in-game rewards for gaining experience. Each time you level up, you unlock new items, upgrade shields and gain increased power for your main character's weapon. You can also purchase extra characters and weapons with the money you earn. When purchasing your first item, you choose the grenade to assist you in fighting off many approaching enemies. The chaos of this battle field necessitated accurate controls. Shielding locations were imperatives for survival. Simply conceal oneself behind a barrier and damage enemies from behind. Use this fact to your advantage by striking with precision at the designated target. You can dart between defensive positions using nimble footwork. You’ll need newer battle units in order to increase the size of your troop ranks. These units include mercenaries, combat robots, automatic machine guns and assassins. You can also add infantry units, such as soldiers and laborers. Airborne units can transport combat helicopters, nuclear missiles, or humanitarian aid. Once they gather enough strength, they can be called upon to the battlefield to give you significant advantages while diminishing your opponent's. These angels upgrade faster and harder to earn every day. Quickly upgrade them to maximize their heavenly rewards.

In WarFriends, you have many options when creating your combat arsenal. Your weapons include machine guns, rifles, pistols and sniper rifles. Each weapon has advantages and disadvantages you need to consider when using them in battle. You possess a pistol, a specific firearm and the main gun in your inventory. Additionally, you typically carry bazookas, laser guns or other special weapons. Special packs provide bonuses to the guns found inside them, making them more effective hunting weapons.

Contending against other combatants requires selecting a ranking. During this process, you’re teamed with other participants to confront foes in combat. Both teams compete to eliminate more opponents and increase their score. Oddly enough, the rules of the game seem simple. However, new players have a hard time understanding the game thanks to its difficulty. When playing the game, the team with the higher score wins if the countdown ends. Higher ranks earn you points for each win and losses deduct points from your overall score. Even losses will add to your score if you're in a higher rank. As long as you accumulate enough points, you'll eventually be promoted to a higher position.
